With nearly 80 years of combined experience in the alteration and construction industry, this couple brings both of their expertise and lovable natures to the business, Builders Architectural Millwork Inc. in Shrewsbury. Anita DelPesce and Bob Montesano have lived in Monmouth County for the past 35 plus years in three different homes, one in Lincroft and two in Colts Neck.
“Our roots are here in Monmouth County and our homes were all less than 10 miles from each other,” said Anita. “It’s needless to say we like the area, the community, and the people here.”
Anita founded the business in 2006 after having been involved in the building of more than 1000 homes as an independent developer. Bob decided to add in his talent and 42 years of experience in high rise construction and renovation, and together they have built a company that furnishes building products.
Known for its pricing and vast selection, Builders Architectural Millwork provides millwork and custom building supplies, along with a complete line of interior and exterior doors. As part of their millwork, they offer molding and interior design upgrades in a climate-controlled warehouse. They also feature a kitchen and custom closet department as well as outdoor living products.
Because of Bob’s charm and sense of humor, we introduce you to him in his own words.
Meet your neighbor, Bob Montesano.
CM: Do you have children or pets?
BOB: We have both pets and children, the problem with pets is when you let them out they run away. The problem with children is when you let them out they always come back. Just kidding we love them all… even our children.
CM: What sets you apart from others doing what you do?
BOB: Our team is what sets us aside from the others and makes us special. They provide individualized service to every customer. Juan is the manager and head of sales. He is an expert in the knowledge of doors whether interior or exterior and is second to none in the molding and millwork industry. Maria is our resident kitchen and closet designer. She has more than 20 years in the industry. Her personality and caring manner make everyone feel like family. Customers have been known to invite her for dinner once their kitchens have been completed. Leo is our delivery expeditor. He guarantees that our deliveries are made quickly and correctly.
CM: What is the most rewarding part of your career?
BOB: Pleasing our customers. Nothing is as important to our team as seeing the happy face of a wellserved client. We strive to exceed expectations. It’s also nice working with the Big Boss, my Anita. I’m the Little Boss, ya know. Only kidding. We run the company as a team and bring our many years of being together into the partnership.
CM: What is your next business goal, or future goal?
BOB: We’re expanding, and it’s exciting!
CM: What organizations are close to your hearts?
BOB: We have been active in assisting The Ashley Lauren Foundation & The Frances Foundation, both nonprofits help children battling pediatric cancer.
CM: What is your favorite thing about living in Colts Neck?
BOB: What’s not to like? Colts Neck is beautiful, peaceful, full of open space and lovely horse farms, friendly neighbors, and gorgeous sprawling homes. We live within minutes to Jersey’s finest beaches. It’s only a quick commute into the City, and we’re surrounded by great shopping, restaurants, nightlife, recreational parks, and golf courses. A truly amazing place to live.
CM: What’s your best life tip to share?
BOB: Be happy. If you can’t live up to your expectations, lower them. Have fun every day, work hard, live hard, and enjoy. When life gets tough, get tougher.
