Monmouth Conservation Foundation (MCF) held its premier outdoor event of the season on September 25. The event was hosted by Vikki and Bill Marraccini at their Dogwood Hills Farm in Locust, where they welcomed 178 guests. Funds raised at the event will be used toward several projects on which MCF is currently working.
“We were really pleased to be able to gather outdoors with so many friends of MCF,” said Executive Director of Monmouth Conservation Foundation William D. Kastning. “A high point of our evening was a celebration of the two largest gifts in Monmouth Conservation Foundation’s history: a $2 million contribution to support the creation of a city park for underserved members of our community; and a $1 million planned gift to name MCF’s ‘legacy society.’ We are truly grateful for the generous support we are receiving from our good friends in Monmouth County who appreciate MCF’s important work of creating parks, saving open space, preserving farmland, teaching environmental sustainability, safeguarding waterways and protecting wildlife.”
MCF was founded in 1977 by Michael Huber and Judith Stanley Coleman as a 501(c)(3) and is Monmouth’s only county-wide land trust. MCF’s objective is to preserve land by determining how a property will be best preserved and utilized so the public-at-large benefits.
