Congregation B’nai Israel in Rumson welcomes you to a virtual screening of the 2013 BBC Imagine documentary film, “Broadway Musicals – A Jewish Legacy”, hosted by the CBI Library Committee, on January 31st at 11:00 am.
Enjoy the excitement, history and imagery of the shows and icons of Broadway theater, and see the roles of Jewish composers and lyricists in the creation of the modern American musical, with highlights including Leonard Bernstein, Stephen Sondheim, Irving Berlin, George and Ira Gershwin, Oscar Hammerstein II, Kurt Weill, and others.
CBI member Sandy Gordon will host and moderate discussion of this documentary that takes an in-depth look at the history and powerful connections. Experience the joy of memory as we revisit Broadway; share, smile and sing along!
